Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref WXP0317 as a Publican's Licence (7-Day Ordinary) for WHITFORD HOUSE HOTEL at NEWLINE ROAD, WEXFORD in CO. WEXFORD with FORTHSIDE LODGE LIMITED as licensee.[1]
Wexford People coverage carried by Irish Independent in 2002 said Whitford House Hotel was on Newline Road and that, after 38 years in existence, the hotel employed more than 65 people and had 38 en-suite bedrooms.[2] Wexford People reported in 2006 that the Whitty family withdrew the Whitford House Hotel from the market after tenders did not meet their requirements, with the hotel expected to sell for around EUR20m.[3] Wexford People reported in January 2026 that Wexford County Council had granted permission for a 32-bedroom extension with a roof garden, link corridor, passenger lift, and ground-floor extensions to restaurant, kitchen, and laundry areas.[4]
