Irish Times reported in 2011 that Labour politician Pat Rabbitte's Tallaght canvass ended with a stop in the Penny Black pub.[2] Irish Independent reported in 2006 that a Tallaght woman said she had been working in the Penny Black when news of the shooting of journalist Veronica Guerin came on the radio.[3]
