Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref N0160 as a Publican's Licence (7-Day Ordinary) for THE COCK TAVERN at 18 CHURCH STREET, HOWTH in CO. DUBLIN with PENINSULA BREWERY LIMITED as licensee.[1]

NIAH records 17-18 Church Street, Howth as a regional-rated former house dated 1780-1820 and in use as a public house when recorded in 2000.[2]

In 2016, The Irish Times described the Harbour Bar in Howth as having reinvented the old Cock Tavern and reported that the new owners kept the Cock Tavern painting over the door outside.[3]
