Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref 1000734 as a Publican's Licence (7-Day Ordinary) for THE BRACKEN COURT HOTEL at THE SQUARE, BALBRIGGAN in CO. DUBLIN with MORIARTY HOTELS LIMITED as licensee.[1]
Irish Times reported in April 2008 that Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan was expected to reopen within weeks after a fire seriously damaged the southern wing of the building.[2] The report said the fire broke out on the fourth floor, spread quickly to the roof, and led to the quick evacuation of the hotel while six fire tenders brought the blaze under control.[2] The same report described the hotel as the only hotel in Balbriggan town centre and said part of it dated from the 18th century.[2]
