Irish Times business coverage in 2004 said Noel MacCumhaill owned seven properties with more than 300 beds across Dublin city centre.[2] The same report described the 46-room Castle Hotel as officially located on Denmark Street and said it was the oldest hotel still trading in Dublin, having opened in 1809, according to MacCumhaill.[2] Irish Times also said the adjacent Waltons was built on the site of the famous music store, which remained in business next door.[2]
